My Affilitheme Review
This Affilitheme Review covers my opinions and thoughts on this theme and the claims made on the sales page. One statement made is that the Affilitheme is …
This ‘Fully Customizable WordPress Theme’ gives you 29 ways to edit the theme. The theme is a fixed width theme, which isn’t uncommon, but it is set at less than 800 pixels wide. More than half the users online use resolutions at 1024 or greater so there is a LOT of wasted screen showing.
The enclosed instruction guide recommends you limit your logo image size to 64x64 pixels which is tiny. It goes on to state that the image MUST be named header.png or it won’t show.
Internet Explorer does not currently display PNG images as well as GIF or JPG so you lose some quality there and there is no easy way to add an image ALT tag which would help with SEO.
There is no title tag for the hyperlinked blog title if you choose to have it active.
The Affilitheme has no Home button. Visitors are expected to know the blog title or the site logo are links that will return you to the home page.
You can do the needed theme edits IF you are good at going through PHP and CSS to make the changes you want.
There are 3 different advertising areas built into the theme BUT you must go to the theme editor to insert or change the ads you want shown.
Note: You can get similar results with a free plugin WITHOUT having to touch your theme editor.
I found the customization of the colors to be too much work. You first have to go to a site recommended in the manual and choose your color and then enter it in the theme. After saving the change, you need to view the blog from a visitor’s perspective to see if the changes work together to create the desired experience. This means you need your theme settings open in one tab, the color picker site in another and your blog’s home page in a third or in a different browser.
I am so disappointed in this theme I emailed support requesting a refund. It has been 48 hours since I made my request and I am still waiting for a reply. My support ticket was responded to 14 days after it was created and I was told to contact Clickbank for support.
The Affilitheme may be useful for marketers that put up niche blogs where they promote one or two products AND they get the majority of their traffic by means other than organic search results. My personal preference is to use themes that can be modified to look the way I choose AND can be made search engine friendly if they aren’t already. I paid $50 one time for Artisteer and I can now create a theme for WordPress Blogger or static pages at will. An NWPP member asked me about the Affilitheme so I bought it after ready the sales copy just so I could do an honest review. (The theme creator is offering review copies to potential affiliates.) I hope you’ve found this Affilitheme review informative.
